The 5 of Wands is about creative differences. No artistic creation, no project, no effort comes to completion without going through a creative differences stage.
Participants thrash out their vision and viewpoint on the project, struggle with the ideal versus the practical or the real. The creative struggle occurs even when only 1 person is working on the project.
Another example is heated banter between a couple. From the outside it may look like major conflict, but it’s just the couples way of working through the fact they are 2 separate people with 2 different points of view. Remember Moonlighting?
The 5 of Wands and David Addison and Maddie Hayes
Most simply, the 5 is about change, shake up and adjustment. The 5 of wands is not about dueling to the death, or things blowing up and destroyed forever.
It’s the guy who honks at you in the parking lot and then continues on. You may think he’s a jerk, but it’s not going to come to blows.
It’s a dog behind a fence barking at your dog as you walk by, and your dog barking back.
Questions to ask around the 5 of wands
Where is some creative thrashing necessary? Who do you have creative differences with? How threatening is the difference of opinion? How can you firmly state your viewpoint without being run over? How easy or difficult would it be to make a few adjustments in your approach?
