Today is a very special day. It’s the first day of the Tarot Card of the Day Project. It’s also the new moon in Capricorn. I’m Cap rising by the way.
Starting today, for the next 77 days, I will create a new Tarot Card for a deck that will be released at the end of the project.
I’ve got a flickr photostream for the entire deck.
The twist to this project, so to speak, is that the Tarot card images will be released into the creative commons.
What that means is that you and I are both free to use these images in whatever way we see fit. That’s right. I am NOT copyrighting these Tarot card images.
I’m creating all the images on iPiccy, an online photo editing software. No fancy schmancy Photoshop or Adobe program. I don’t know how to use those anyway.
I am using Dover clip art images and other images that I photographed or created myself.
Why the Tarot Card of the Day Project?
Why am I doing this?
The short answer is because I want to.
The longer answer is because I am returning to a life of art. Back in the late 80’s, I lived a life of art. I was surrounded by artists of all sorts: dancers, musicians, poets, writers, painters etc.
Back then, we all worked jobs to support our art. And there was something truly magical and inspiring about that time in my life.
They say you can’t go back to the way things were. But I started thinking…
What if I returned to a life of art?
Like a lover from the past that I somehow hook up with again. What if I could immerse myself once again in infinite possibility and self expression through creative work. I am a Leo after all.
Holy crap! I’ve been neglecting my sun sign.
Okay, it’s settled. I’m doing it.
